The IofAM was pleased to welcome Joanna Bussell - Partner, Lawrence Graham LLP - as an expert speaker offering detailed, practical advice on how existing legislation and accepted structures of governance can affect the running of associations UK-wide.
Building on this very practical framework, Tony Millns - Chief Executive of English UK - elaborated with a host of his own personal experiences managing and contributing to a variety of boards, councils and directorships.
Informal questions were put to the speakers during the presentations and as part of a lively panel discussion at the end of the sessions. Delegates solicited details about good practice, the roles of directors and committees, innovative board-related management techniques, accreditation for directors and forthcoming changes to the law. The IofAM is pleased to say that it has received some very positive feedback from this practical seminar full of new ideas from both speakers and the 40+ delegates who attended.
The IofAM would like to thank Visit Scotland for kindly sponsoring this event, and for offering an inspirational film and talk about the variety of venues on offer throughout Scotland.
