Zanna Floyd

Zanna Floyd (Human Resources Group, Eversheds LLP) illustrating the debate with her experiences with diversity issues in the workplace, looking at the implications of anti-discrimination legislation. What are the less obvious forms of discriminatory behaviour – and how does the justice system view the way we speak and act in the workplace? Delegates took an informal quiz on how we classify various behaviours and statements – with less-than-obvious results!

Gregory Burke Dr. Gregory Burke (Chief Executive, DisabledGo) has spearheaded a country-wide survey on how disabled people view the day-to- workplace day challenges, culminating in an eye-opening report that pinpoints the accessibility gaps businesses need to look at - most of which are low-cost and low maintenance.

Delegates then addressed practical questions to a panel of experts; What is the best way to achieve a diverse mix in terms of staff and management? And how can we best address the changing needs in the workplace with a rising population of non-UK labour, an aging working population and shifting demands for skills?

Our thanks to our panel:
Rachel Nickless (Equalities Officer, Disability Rights Commission)
Rachel Krys (Head of Communications, Employers Federation on Age)
Kay Hampton (Chair, Commission for Racial Equality )
Alan Wardle (Director of Public Affairs, Stonewall)
Keith Frost (Business Manager, TAEN - The Experts in Age and Employment)
