This seminar on 17 September 2009 presented delegates with solutions and best practice on how the data protection act can be applied to a day to day basis.

Rosemary Smith
Rosemary Smith Director, Opt4, began the seminar with her overview on data breach and how to survive a data breach. Rosemary also gave her recommendations on security in technology and how it can affect your members or organisation.
   
Louise Townsend Louise Townsend, Data Protection Lawyer at Pinsent Masons continued and talked about legislation and codes and gave advice on website compliance, including data protection notices, privacy statements and when should data be used correctly.
   
Richard Ansell
Richard Ansell, Data Protection Practice Officer at the Information Commissioner’s Office closed the seminar with an official update on data protection. Richard also presented the principles of data protection and why data protection is a priority.
