Institute welcomes delegates to annual conference focusing on value and resources.
The Institute's annual conference on 11 and 12 February offered a forum for delegates, speakers and partners to debate practical solutions with top-end managers and industry experts. The focus was on maximising resources for real performance in today's challenging climate, with targeted presentations offering tactics and tips to association managers and senior staff.
Chaired by Institute President Paul Neale, a full day of presentations and debate followed a gala dinner on the 11th which offered an initial platform for networking and discussion.
James Sale, of Motivational Maps Ltd, kicked off the debate with an introduction on a tested facility for analysing individual management strengths - a tool to get the best out of personal performance and the performance of teams, staff, clients and customers.
Kerry Hallard of the National Outsourcing Association and outsourced agency Buffalo Communications used her own experience as a service provider - and outsourcer - to discuss successful outsourcing for your association.
The Institute also welcomed the Recruitment Society's Steve Huxham whose twenty-three years of experience in professional recruitment provided an in-depth background for essential interviewing techniques and tips - a practical overview with a wealth of real-life examples for anyone looking to hire or be hired in today's job market.
Building and motivating a flourishing team was the focus of a thoughtful overview by Sharon Brown, of Business Navigation Group. Team building and cohesion were seen as key to a strategy to support the effective work of the CEO - often the person with the 'loneliest job in the world.'
Viv Cole of Redtray highlighted ways to make your events successful, emphasising a focus on the audience: what will participants take away - encouraging them to return to future events and engage with your association?
