The Barbican Centre

The Barbican Centre is Europe’s largest multi-arts and conference venue. Situated in the heart of the City of London amongst famous historical landmarks such as St Paul’s Cathedral, the centre offers a wealth of space for conferences, exhibitions, banquets and corporate entertainment, in addition to being the London home of the London Symphony Orchestra. Barbican, Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations are all within easy walking distance. Following a major £14m redevelopment of its foyers and public spaces, Barbican is increasingly appreciated as one of the leading UK Arts and Conference venues. Entrances have been remodelled with a brand new Silk Street entrance, improved signage and new routes created through the foyer spaces, greatly improving orientation and navigation. Delegates arriving by car and coach will find the Barbican Centre well sign-posted around the city, and can park in one of the 450+ spaces in 4 NCP car parks on site.

Description of meeting/conference facilities

The Barbican Centre has a wide range of facilities for between 15 and 2000 delegates. Barbican Hall seats 500-1989 in three raked tiers which provide excellent sight lines, and Barbican Theatre seats 400-1156 making them ideal for main plenary sessions. Three presentation cinemas accommodate 80-280 people and feature air-conditioning, their own projection room and in-house technical facilities in addition to a flexible range of smaller suites available for groups of 15-170 people, all featuring natural daylight, and air conditioning making them ideal for educational sessions or smaller plenary sessions. A wide range of catering facilities, including a tropical conservatory and a Garden Room with views over the church of St. Giles Cripplegate compliment these extensive conference facilities.
