Detective Chief Inspector Chris Phillips is the Head of the National Counter Terrorism Security office. This is a team of officers responsible for protecting the United Kingdoms critical assets and making the terrorist acquisition of weapons more difficult.
The team also has the lead role in the Counter terrorism protection of crowded places and soft targets, including Stadiums, Shopping centres and licenced premises.
NaCTSO are a joint initiative between the Association of Chief Police officers and Mi5.Located within Thames House they have responsibility for training, tasking and co-ordinating the activities of Counter Terrorism Security Advisors (CTSA) who are located across the UK.
He has extensive policing experience including four years as ground commander for major sporting events and concerts at Twickenham Stadium. He has also had experience of commanding events such as Wimbledon tennis and the Epsom Derby. He has been called upon to police many hundreds of events across London.
As an experienced Police Security Co-ordinator (SECCO) he has also co-ordinated the security for visits to the UK from foreign governments and dignitaries. Within this role he has also had responsibility for the policing at Lords, The Oval, Wembley stadium and large concerts such as Party in the Park.
