Jodi Berg is an elected member of the Executive Committee of the British and Irish Ombudsman Association. In 2006 Jodi chaired a BIOA working group to identify and articulate the Principles of Good Complaint Handling.
Following an early professional career as a solicitor in Manchester specializing in employment and commercial law, Jodi went into business rising through the executive ranks to become Managing Director of a leading fashion company. She has also held non-executive board roles in both the private and public sectors and served as Chair of an NHS Trust and Probation Service in London.
In 1998 Jodi set up the Office of the Independent Complaints Reviewer on appointment by HM Land Registry. In the last ten years, she has held appointments as reviewer for 16 public bodies, including the Department for Work and Pensions. She currently reviews complaints about the Audit Commission, the Charity Commission and 5 other Government organisations.
Despite a busy professional and business career, Jodi has devoted considerable time and interest to community and charitable activities. She is a magistrate, a mediator of many years standing and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
