Simon Forrester MBA MIAM Chief Executive, Association of Interior Specialists
Simon began his working life in the NHS in London. Like many association managers, he drifted into the not-for-profit sector through a combination of stealth, luck and good judgment. After becoming deputy chief executive at The British Dietetic Association and then operations manager for the British Association of Conference Destinations, he realised his ambition to lead a trade association, when he joined the Association of Interior Specialists as Chief Executive in October 2005. Simon has over 12 years' experience in association management across both trade federations and professional bodies. He read Environmental Science at Greenwich University, and went on be awarded a MBA from Birmingham City University, with a thesis on association mergers and collaboration. Simon is currently considering Chartered Association Executive status, and is working on convergence with a sister trade federation. He is married and lives in Birmingham.
